Why does my Ford Ranger struggle to accelerate at high speeds?

I have a 2019 Ford Ranger and I've noticed that when I try to accelerate at high speeds, it struggles to pick up speed. It feels like there's a lack of power. Is this a common issue with Ford Rangers? What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Samantha, this could be due to a few reasons. One common issue is a dirty air filter, which can restrict airflow to the engine and decrease performance. Other potential culprits could be a clogged fuel filter or a faulty fuel pump. I recommend getting a diagnostic check to pinpoint the exact cause and then address it accordingly.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Ranger and it turned out to be a problem with the spark plugs. When they get worn out, they can cause a misfire and decrease engine power. Make sure to get your spark plugs replaced regularly to avoid this issue.

One thing to check is your transmission fluid level. If it's low, it can cause your transmission to work harder and result in poor acceleration. You may also want to consider getting a transmission flush if it's been a while since your last one.
