How Do You Change the Oil in a Ford Ranger?

I recently purchased a Ford Ranger and I am wondering how often I should change the oil and what is the correct procedure to do so. Can anyone provide some insight?

As a certified Ford technician, I recommend changing the oil every 7,500 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. To change the oil, you will need to lift the truck with a jack, open the oil drain plug and let the old oil drain out, replace the oil filter, and then refill the oil. Make sure to use the correct type and viscosity of oil for your specific Ford Ranger model. If you are uncomfortable doing this yourself, it is best to take it to a trusted mechanic or dealership.

The best way to remember when to change the oil is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations. For most Ford Rangers, this is every 5,000 miles or every 6 months. If you do a lot of off-roading or towing, you may want to change it more frequently. And always check your oil level and condition regularly to make sure there are no issues.

Changing the oil in your Ford Ranger is a simple task that you can do yourself. Just make sure you have the right tools, the right oil, and the right instructions. You can find step-by-step guides online or watch YouTube videos to help you out. And always make sure to properly dispose of the old oil.
