How often should I change the oil of my Ford Focus?

I recently bought a Ford Focus and I'm wondering how often I should change the oil. I did some research and found mixed answers. Can you provide some clarity on this issue?

As a Ford car owner, I recommend changing your oil every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first.

After consulting with a Ford mechanic, I found out that it's best to follow the manufacturer's recommended oil change interval. For the Ford Focus, it's every 7,500 miles or every 12 months.

I've been driving a Ford Focus for 10 years and I usually change the oil every 3,000 miles. It's just a personal preference to be on the safe side.
