What is the best oil viscosity for a Ford Galaxy?

I just got my hands on a Ford Galaxy and I want to make sure I'm using the best oil for my car. What oil viscosity should I be using and why?

It is recommended to use 5W-30 or 5W-20 oil for a Ford Galaxy. This is because it provides better performance and fuel efficiency. Additionally, it helps protect against wear and tear on the engine.

Using a higher viscosity oil, such as 10W-40, may seem like a good idea for a older or high mileage engine, but it can actually cause damage and reduce performance in newer cars like the Ford Galaxy. Stick to the recommended oil viscosity for best results.

If you live in a colder climate, it may be beneficial to use a lower viscosity oil, such as 0W-20. This will provide easier start-ups and better engine protection in low temperatures.
