Why does my Ford Kuga's engine feel sluggish?

I have a 2018 Ford Kuga with a 2.5L V6 engine. Lately, I've noticed that it's been feeling sluggish when accelerating. What could be causing this and how can I improve its performance?

Hi Samantha, this could be due to a few different factors. It's possible that your air filter needs to be replaced, as a clogged filter can restrict airflow and decrease performance. Another potential issue could be a dirty fuel injector, which can cause a decrease in fuel efficiency and power. It's also worth checking your spark plugs to ensure they are functioning properly. If none of these solutions help, I would recommend taking it to a mechanic for a more thorough inspection.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Kuga and it turned out to be a faulty mass air flow sensor. This sensor measures the air intake and adjusts the fuel accordingly, so a malfunctioning sensor can definitely cause sluggishness. I would suggest getting it checked and possibly replaced by a certified technician.

One simple solution could be to give your engine a thorough cleaning. Over time, dirt and grime can build up in the engine and decrease its efficiency. Using a good engine cleaner can remove built-up debris and improve its performance. Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully to avoid any damage.
