Why does my Ford Mondeo's engine keep overheating?

I have a Ford Mondeo that I recently purchased from a used car dealership. It seems to be in good condition, but I've noticed that the engine tends to overheat after driving for about 20 minutes. The temperature gauge will go up to the red line and stay there until I turn off the engine. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

It sounds like there may be a problem with your car's cooling system. It could be a leak in the radiator or a malfunctioning fan. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic to get it checked out.

It is possible that the thermostat is stuck and not allowing the coolant to flow properly, causing the engine to overheat. You can try replacing the thermostat yourself or take it to a mechanic for a professional opinion.

Another possibility is that there is a blockage in the radiator or hoses, preventing proper circulation of coolant. This could also cause overheating. A mechanic can inspect and flush the radiator to fix this issue.
