I recently noticed that my Ford Puma is making a high-pitched squealing noise every time I turn the steering wheel. It seems to get worse when the car is cold, but it still persists even when the car has been driven for a while. What could be causing this and is there any way to fix it?
ReplyHi Hannah, this could be caused by a few different issues. One possibility is that your power steering fluid is low or old, which can cause the squealing noise. I would recommend checking your power steering fluid level and, if necessary, replacing it with fresh fluid. Another potential cause could be a worn out or loose belt in your steering system, which can also create a squealing noise. If this is the case, I would suggest having a mechanic inspect and replace the belt if needed. Hope this helps!
Hi there, I had a similar issue with my Ford Puma and it turned out to be a problem with the steering pump. The pump may be failing or not functioning properly, which can cause the squealing noise you're hearing. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic to have them inspect the steering pump and see if it needs to be replaced. Best of luck!
