Why does my Ford Ranger engine shake when idle?

I recently bought a used Ford Ranger and I've noticed that the engine shakes when I'm at a stop. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

The shaking could be due to a number of reasons such as a misfiring spark plug or a clogged fuel filter. I recommend taking your vehicle to a trusted mechanic for a diagnostic check to pinpoint the exact issue.

Check the motor mounts and make sure they're not worn out. This could be causing the engine to shake. If they are worn out, it's important to replace them as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Ranger and it turned out to be a faulty idle control valve. Replacing it fixed the shaking problem. Definitely have a mechanic check it out.
