Why is my Ford Fiesta's engine making a clicking noise?

My Ford Fiesta's engine has suddenly started making a loud clicking noise when I start it up. It doesn't seem to affect the performance of the car, but it's worrying me. Should I be concerned?

It could be a sign of a worn-out starter or solenoid. You should get it checked out by a mechanic to be safe.

It could also be a problem with the valve lifters. That's an easy fix, but it's best to have a professional diagnose it.

Make sure you're using the correct type of oil for your engine. Using the wrong type can cause clicking noises. Check your owner's manual for the recommended oil.
