Why is my Ford Focus engine stalling?

Recently, my Ford Focus engine has been stalling when I come to a stop. This only happens occasionally and I have not noticed any patterns. How can I figure out the cause and prevent it from happening in the future?

It is possible that your engine is stalling due to a dirty fuel filter or a clogged air filter. I would suggest having these components checked and replaced if necessary.

Another potential cause could be a faulty idle air control valve. This component helps regulate the engine's idle speed and can cause stalling if it is malfunctioning. A mechanic can easily diagnose and replace this part for you.

Check your car's battery and alternator as well. A weak battery or failing alternator can result in stalling at low speeds. Have these components tested and replaced if needed.
