Why is my Ford Kuga's engine making a knocking noise?

I have a Ford Kuga and I've started to notice a knocking noise coming from the engine. It seems to happen more when the engine is cold. What could be causing this and what can I do to fix it?

It is possible that the knocking noise is coming from a faulty timing chain tensioner. This is a known issue in Ford Kugas and should be addressed immediately. It is recommended to take your car to a mechanic and have them inspect and potentially replace the tensioner.

Another possibility is that the fuel injectors are dirty or clogged, causing the knocking noise. This can be remedied by using a fuel injector cleaner, which can be found at most auto parts stores. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully.

It could also be a problem with the spark plugs. Check to see if they are dirty or worn out and replace them if necessary. Keep in mind that spark plugs should typically be replaced every 30,000 miles.
