Why is my Ford Mondeo engine shaking at idle?

I recently purchased a used Ford Mondeo and I've noticed that the engine shakes when I'm stopped at a red light or in traffic. It seems to run fine while driving, but the shaking is concerning. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Melissa, the shaking at idle could be caused by a few different things. It could be an issue with the spark plugs, fuel injectors, or even the engine mounts. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic for a diagnostic and repair. They can easily pinpoint the issue and help you fix it.

Hi Melissa, I had a similar issue with my Ford Mondeo and it turned out to be a problem with the ignition coil. It was an easy fix and now my car runs smoothly at idle. I would suggest getting your ignition coil checked as well.

Hi Melissa, another common cause of engine shaking at idle is a dirty or clogged air filter. If the air filter is not allowing enough clean air to flow into the engine, it can cause rough idling. Make sure to regularly check and replace your air filter to prevent this issue.
