Why is my Ford Mondeo stalling when I come to a stop?

I've had my Ford Mondeo for a few years now and recently it has started to stall when I come to a stop at a red light or stop sign. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's becoming more frequent. Any advice on what could be causing this issue?

Hi Mike, it sounds like your vehicle may have a faulty idle air control valve. This part regulates the engine's idle speed and if it's malfunctioning, it can cause the engine to stall when you come to a stop. I would recommend taking your vehicle to a trusted mechanic to have it diagnosed and replaced if necessary.

Hi Mike, another possible cause for your stalling issue could be a dirty or faulty mass airflow sensor. This sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine and if it's dirty or not working properly, it can cause the engine to stall. Try cleaning the sensor first and if that doesn't help, have it checked and possibly replaced by a professional.

Hi Mike, have you checked the fuel filter? A clogged fuel filter can restrict fuel flow to the engine and cause stalling. I would suggest replacing the fuel filter, as it's a relatively inexpensive and easy fix.
