Why is my Ford Ranger engine making a knocking noise?

I recently purchased a used Ford Ranger and noticed that whenever I accelerate, the engine makes a noticeable knocking noise. It seems to be coming from the front of the vehicle, near the engine. Any idea what could be causing this?

This could be due to a few reasons, such as worn out spark plugs or a faulty fuel pump. I would recommend taking your Ford Ranger to a trusted mechanic to have it checked out.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Ranger a few years ago. It turned out that the engine mounts were loose and needed to be tightened. You should have a mechanic check that as well.

I have a friend who owns a Ford Ranger and he had a similar issue with the engine making a knocking noise. It turned out to be a faulty knock sensor. You may want to have that checked as well.
