Why is my Ford Ranger engine making a loud ticking noise?

I noticed that my Ford Ranger's engine has been making a loud ticking noise. I'm not sure what could be causing it but I'm worried it might be a sign of a bigger issue. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how it can be fixed?

It's possible that your engine is low on oil or that the oil needs to be changed. This can cause ticking noises.

Another potential cause could be an issue with the timing chain or belt. It's important to get this checked and fixed as soon as possible.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Ranger and it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. Have a mechanic check it out.
