Why is my Ford Ranger's engine making a rattling noise?

I recently purchased a Ford Ranger and noticed that the engine has started making a rattling noise. I'm worried that this could be a serious issue and want to make sure I take care of it right away. What could be causing this noise and how can I fix it?

It could be a variety of issues causing the rattling noise, such as loose components or low oil levels. I recommend taking your car to a certified mechanic to have it checked out.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Ranger last year and it turned out to be a problem with the timing belt. Make sure to have the timing belt inspected and replaced if needed.

The rattling noise could also be due to a worn out belt tensioner or idler pulley. It's best to have a mechanic take a look and replace any worn out parts.
