I recently bought a used Ford S-Max and I've noticed that the engine is making a strange rattling noise. It's not very loud, but it's definitely noticeable. I'm concerned about the health of my engine and I'm not sure what could be causing this noise. Can anyone offer some insight into what might be going on and if I need to take it to a mechanic?
ReplyIt's possible that the rattling noise is coming from your timing belt. If it's loose or worn out, it can create a rattling noise. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic to have it checked out just to be safe.
I had a similar issue with my Ford S-Max and it turned out to be a problem with the exhaust system. A piece of the exhaust had come loose and was causing the rattling noise. I would suggest having your exhaust system checked as well.
