I recently bought a used Ford Ranger and have noticed that the engine makes a ticking sound at idle. It seems to go away when I accelerate, but then comes back when I slow down. Is this normal or do I need to get it checked out?
ReplyIt could be a sign of worn out lifters in the engine. You should take it to a mechanic to get it checked out before it causes any major damage.
I had the same issue with my Ford Ranger and it turned out to be a loose spark plug. Tightening it fixed the ticking sound.
