How often should I change the timing belt on my Ford Ranger?

I've heard that the timing belt is an important component of my Ford Ranger's engine, but I'm not sure how often it needs to be replaced. Can anyone give me some advice on the recommended maintenance schedule for the timing belt? Thanks!

It's recommended to change the timing belt every 60,000 miles or every 5-7 years, whichever comes first.

I change mine every 80,000 miles, but if you live in a hot or dusty climate, it's better to err on the side of caution and replace it every 60,000 miles.
