Why does my Ford Kuga's engine make a rattling noise when starting?

I recently purchased a Ford Kuga and I've noticed that when I start the engine, there's a loud rattling noise. I'm concerned about the health of my car's engine. Can anyone offer some insight on what could be causing this issue?

Based on your description, it sounds like there may be an issue with your car's timing belt. It could be worn or loose, causing it to make a rattling noise when starting the engine. I would recommend taking your car to a certified mechanic to have it checked out.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Kuga and it turned out to be a problem with the spark plugs. They were loose and needed to be tightened. I would suggest checking them as well as the other components in your engine.

I had a rattling noise in my engine as well and it turned out to be a loose heat shield. It's a common issue with Ford vehicles and can be easily fixed by tightening the bolts on the shield. I would recommend having a mechanic take a look at it.
