Why does my Ford Ranger's check engine light keep coming on?

I have a Ford Ranger and the check engine light keeps coming on, even after I have taken it to the mechanic multiple times. What could be causing this and what should I do?

Your Ford Ranger may have a faulty oxygen sensor causing the check engine light to come on. I recommend taking it to a certified mechanic to get it checked and replaced if necessary.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Ranger and it turned out to be a loose gas cap. Make sure to always tighten the gas cap after filling up to see if that resolves the issue.

One potential problem could be a bad catalytic converter. Have the mechanic check for any damage or if it needs to be replaced.
