Why does my Ford Ranger's engine make a ticking noise?

I have a Ford Ranger and recently noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine. It doesn't seem to affect performance, but I'm worried it could be a sign of a bigger issue. Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?

It's possible that your engine is low on oil, which could be causing the ticking noise. Check your oil level and top off if needed. If that doesn't solve the issue, it's best to take your Ford Ranger to a mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

I had the same issue with my Ford Ranger and it turned out to be a faulty lifter. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic for a proper inspection and repair.

Make sure to also check your oil filter for any clogs or debris. A dirty oil filter can also cause ticking noises in the engine.
