Why does my Ford S-Max have a rattling noise in the engine?

I have noticed that my Ford S-Max makes a rattling noise when I start the engine. It goes away after a few minutes of driving, but it's still concerning. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

It's possible that there could be an issue with your timing chain. It may need to be replaced or tightened. I would recommend bringing it to a mechanic to have it checked out.

I had a similar issue with my Ford S-Max and it turned out to be a loose heat shield. It was an easy fix and the noise went away after it was tightened.

The rattling noise could also be a result of low oil levels or old and dirty oil. Make sure to regularly check and change your oil to prevent any potential engine issues.
