Why is my Ford Ranger making a strange engine noise?

I've noticed that my Ford Ranger is making a loud squealing noise while I'm driving. It seems to be coming from the engine but I'm not sure what the problem could be. Can anyone offer some advice on what could be causing this noise?

It sounds like your serpentine belt may be worn or loose. This can cause squealing noises when your engine is running. I would recommend checking the condition of your belt and possibly replacing it if necessary.

Another possibility could be a faulty tensioner or pulley. These can also cause squealing noises and should be checked and replaced if needed.

Make sure to also check your power steering fluid and transmission fluid levels. Low levels can also cause strange noises in your engine.
