Why is my Ford Ranger's engine overheating?

I have a Ford Ranger and recently the engine has been overheating. Every time I drive it for more than a few minutes, the temperature gauge shoots up into the red. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

The most common cause of engine overheating in Ford Rangers is a malfunctioning thermostat. It is important to get this fixed as soon as possible to prevent any further damage to your engine.

It could also be a problem with your radiator. If there is a leak or blockage, it can prevent proper circulation of coolant and cause overheating. You should take your Ranger to a mechanic to have it checked.
