Why is my Ford S-Max's brake pedal feeling spongy?

I recently noticed that my Ford S-Max's brake pedal has a spongy feel to it when I press down on it. What could be causing this issue and what steps should I take to fix it?

This could be due to air in the brake lines, which can cause a spongy feeling when you press the pedal. I suggest bleeding the brake lines to remove any air bubbles.

Another possibility is that the brake pads or rotors are worn out, which can also cause a spongy pedal feel. I recommend getting them checked and replaced if necessary.

One more thing to check is the brake fluid level. If it is low, it can also lead to a spongy brake pedal. Make sure to top it off if needed.
