Why is my Ford Transit Custom making a loud knocking noise?

I have a Ford Transit Custom and recently it has been making a loud knocking noise whenever I drive over bumps or rough roads. It seems to be coming from the front of the vehicle. Any idea what could be causing this and how I can fix it?
