How do you change the oil in a Ford Focus?

I am new to owning a Ford Focus and want to make sure I am properly maintaining my car. How often should I change the oil and what type of oil should I use? Any tips or tricks for making the process easier?

I recommend changing your Ford Focus's oil every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. As for the type of oil, it's best to stick with the manufacturer's recommendation, which can be found in your owner's manual. To make the process easier, be sure to have all necessary supplies on hand (oil, filter, oil pan, etc.), have a designated space to work in, and double check the drain plug is securely tightened.

I suggest doing an oil change every 3,000 miles or every 3 months. As for the type of oil, I personally use synthetic oil for my Ford Focus as it provides better performance and protection. To make the process easier, warm up your car's engine beforehand, use an oil filter wrench, and dispose of the old oil responsibly at a certified recycling facility.

Changing the oil in a Ford Focus can be easily done at home. Personally, I use an oil extractor, which eliminates the need to lift the car and drain the old oil. However, if you prefer the traditional method, make sure to use a car jack and jack stands. Also, invest in a good quality oil filter as it plays a crucial role in engine performance.
