How to choose the right engine for a Ford Transit Custom van?

I am looking to purchase a Ford Transit Custom van and I am not sure which engine size would be the best fit for my needs. I will be using the van for both business and personal purposes. Can anyone offer any advice on how to choose the right engine for the Ford Transit Custom?
