How to properly maintain the brakes in a Ford Fiesta?

I recently bought a Ford Fiesta and I want to make sure I am taking proper care of the brakes. How often should I change the brake pads and rotors? Is there anything else I should be doing to maintain the brakes?

Hi Maria, congratulations on your new purchase! It's important to regularly check and maintain your brakes to ensure the safety of your Ford Fiesta. According to Ford, brake pads usually need to be replaced every 25,000 miles, but this can vary depending on your driving habits. It's a good idea to get them inspected every 10,000 miles. As for the rotors, they usually need to be replaced every 50,000 miles. In addition to regular maintenance, driving habits such as excessive braking and city driving can wear down the brakes faster. Make sure to keep an eye on your brake fluid as well.

Hey Maria, maintaining your brakes is crucial for your safety on the road. The best way to know when to change your brake pads is to listen for any unusual noises or vibrations while braking. It's also helpful to check your brake pads visually every 10,000 miles. As for the rotors, they usually need to be replaced every 50,000 miles. If your brake pedal feels spongy or the car takes longer to come to a stop, it's a sign that you may need to replace the rotors.

Hi Maria, maintaining your brakes is important for both your own safety and the longevity of your Ford Fiesta. Keep an eye on your brake fluid and make sure to change it every two years or so. It's also a good idea to get your brakes checked whenever you get your tires rotated. If you feel any pulsation or vibrations while braking, it may be time to replace the rotors. Remember to always follow the manufacturer's recommendations for maintenance.
