What is the difference between Ford EcoSport's BLIS and Cross-Traffic Alert?

I'm considering purchasing a Ford EcoSport and I noticed that it comes with BLIS and Cross-Traffic Alert as safety features. Can you explain the difference between these two technologies?

BLIS stands for Blind Spot Information System and it uses sensors to detect if there is a vehicle in your blind spot. Cross-Traffic Alert, on the other hand, uses radar to detect vehicles approaching from the side when you're backing out of a parking spot. Both can help prevent accidents and it's always good to have both features for added safety.
