What's the best engine for a Ford Ranger?

I'm looking to upgrade my Ford Ranger's engine for better performance. What engine size and type would you recommend for my truck? Any specific models to check out?

I would suggest checking out the 2.7L V6 engine that's available in the Ford Ranger. It has a good balance of power and fuel efficiency.

I've had great experience with my 3.5L V6 Ford Ranger engine. Plenty of power and torque for towing and off-roading.
