Why is my Ford Ranger stalling when I accelerate?

I recently purchased a used Ford Ranger and have been having trouble with it stalling when I try to accelerate. It seems to happen randomly and can be quite dangerous. Any advice on what might be causing this issue?

I had this same problem with my Ranger and it turned out to be a clogged fuel filter. I would suggest getting that replaced as well.
