Why is my Ford Focus engine making a rattling noise?

My Ford Focus engine has started to make a rattling noise recently. It only happens when I accelerate and it seems to be getting worse. I'm worried it might be a serious issue. What could be causing this and what should I do about it?

It sounds like your engine could be experiencing a misfire, which is often accompanied by a rattling noise. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic to have it diagnosed and repaired.

If the rattling noise is coming from the front of the car, it could be caused by a loose or worn out pulley or belt. You should have it inspected and replaced if necessary.

Another possibility is that there is an issue with your transmission. It's best to have it checked out by a professional to avoid any potential long term damage.
