Why is my Ford Ranger making a rattling noise when idling?

I have a 2014 Ford Ranger and recently it has started making a rattling noise when idling. It seems to go away when I start driving but it's really concerning. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Hi Mark, this could be caused by a few different things such as a loose exhaust, damaged catalytic converter, or worn-out serpentine belt. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic to have it properly diagnosed and fixed.

I had the same issue with my Ford Ranger and it turned out to be a faulty tensioner pulley. It's an easy fix, you can just replace the pulley yourself. Hope this helps!
