Why is my Ford Focus overheating after driving for an extended period of time?

I have a Ford Focus 2010 model and I have noticed that after driving for more than 30 minutes, the temperature gauge starts rising and the car eventually overheats. I have checked the coolant levels and they seem to be fine. What could be the issue and how can I prevent it?

Hi Adam, it sounds like you might have a faulty thermostat or a clogged radiator. I suggest taking your car to a mechanic to have it checked and possibly replaced. As for preventing the issue, make sure to check your coolant levels regularly and have your cooling system flushed every 3 years or as recommended by the manufacturer.

Hello Adam, another common cause of overheating in Ford Focus models is a malfunctioning water pump. This part circulates the coolant through the engine and if it is not working properly, it can lead to overheating. I recommend having it checked and replaced if necessary.
