Why is my Ford Transit Custom making a ticking noise when I accelerate?

I recently bought a Ford Transit Custom and I noticed that when I accelerate, the van makes a ticking noise. It doesn't seem to affect the performance of the van, but I'm worried that it could be a sign of a bigger issue. Has anyone else experienced this or know what could be causing it?

Don't worry, it's likely just a small issue with the valve train. It's common for the Transit Custom to make this noise when accelerating, but it shouldn't affect the performance of the van. However, if the noise becomes louder or more frequent, it's best to get it checked by a mechanic.

I had the same issue with my Transit Custom and I took it to the dealership. They said it was a loose heat shield and tightened it up for me. Noise went away after that. It's worth getting it checked just in case.
