Is the Ford S-Max a reliable car for long road trips?

I am planning a cross-country road trip and I am considering purchasing the Ford S-Max. Will it be able to handle the long distance and rough terrain? I have heard mixed reviews about its reliability.

I have taken my Ford S-Max on several long road trips and it has never let me down. As long as you keep up with regular maintenance, it is a reliable and capable car for long distances.

I would not recommend the Ford S-Max for long road trips. I have had several mechanical issues while traveling and it can be a hassle to deal with while on the road.
