What is the best way to care for the Ford Ranger's engine?

I recently purchased a Ford Ranger and want to make sure I am taking proper care of the engine. Is it necessary to change the oil more frequently due to the truck's heavy-duty capabilities? And should I be using a specific type of oil for optimal performance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi John, congratulations on your new Ford Ranger! As with any vehicle, regular oil changes are crucial for maintaining the engine's health. However, since the Ford Ranger is built for tough tasks, it's recommended to change the oil every 5,000 miles instead of the standard 7,500 miles. Additionally, using a synthetic blend oil can provide better protection for your engine. Hope this helps!

Hey John, great question. In addition to regular oil changes, make sure to also check and replace the air filter when needed. A dirty air filter can decrease fuel efficiency and cause strain on the engine. And since you have a Ford Ranger, it's important to regularly check and maintain the transmission fluid as well. Hi there John, as a mechanic for Ford, I highly recommend using Motorcraft oil for your Ford Ranger. It is specifically designed for Ford vehicles and can provide optimal protection and performance. Plus, it meets Ford's stringent specifications. Let me know if you have any other questions.
