How do I fix the transmission issues in my Ford S-Max?

I have been experiencing problems with my Ford S-Max's transmission. It seems to be slipping and shifting gears too quickly. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Alexandra, from the symptoms you described, it sounds like you may have low transmission fluid or a faulty transmission control module. Have you checked the transmission fluid level and quality? If it's low, top it off and see if that helps with the shifting issues. If not, it may be best to take your car to a mechanic for a diagnostic test.

Hi Alexandra, I had a similar issue with my Ford S-Max and it turned out to be a worn out clutch. It's recommended to replace the clutch every 60,000-70,000 miles. Have you checked the mileage on your car?

Hey Alexandra, I had a similar issue with my Ford S-Max too and it was due to a faulty solenoid pack. This controls the shifting of gears in the transmission. You may want to have this checked and replaced if necessary.
