Why does my Ford Mondeo's engine make a ticking noise?

I have noticed that when I start my Ford Mondeo, the engine makes a ticking noise. It goes away after a few minutes but it's slightly worrying. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Maria, the ticking noise could be caused by a number of issues such as low oil levels, a faulty valve or a loose rocker arm. It's important to get your car checked by a mechanic to determine the cause and get it fixed as soon as possible. Ignoring it could lead to bigger problems in the future.

Hi Maria, I had the same issue with my Ford Mondeo and it turned out to be a faulty lifter. It's not a major issue but it's best to get it fixed sooner rather than later. I would recommend taking it to a trusted mechanic to get it looked at.
